Mayor’s Youth Award

That’s right! The Mayor’s Youth Award is back for 2010!

This award is to recognize those outstanding individuals who display a strong sense of balance as both a student, and a youth in Markham.  If you think you’ve been involved at school and in the community, then this is your chance to receive the Mayor’s Youth Award and a $300 cash prize!!!

There will be three awards given out according to grade range.

They are as follows:

1 Award for Grade 7-8

1 Award for Grade 9-10

1 Award for Grade 11-12

The MYTF would like to thank all those who applied for the 2010 Mayor’s Youth Award.  After reviewing each application and interview, we would like to congratulate the following recipients.

Grade 7-8 : Divya Shah

Grade 9-10 : Shirley Long

Grade 11-12 : Amy Martin

The three recipients will receive their awards at this year’s annual Youth Week Kick-Off held at Markville Shopping Centre on Sunday, May 2nd, 2010 by Mayor Frank Scarpitti himself.
